Quiet Memory — A Behavioral Product Concept
Project type
Behavioral Product Concept
Date
May 2026
Location
Portland, OR
Quiet Memory is a behavioral product concept exploring how digital memory systems can unintentionally create emotional friction during life transitions such as breakups, loss, and personal change.
Modern platforms constantly resurface memories through algorithms, widgets, notifications, and automated photo experiences. While these systems are designed to increase engagement, they are often not designed for emotional recovery.
Quiet Memory explores a gentler alternative — helping users reduce unexpected memory resurfacing without permanently erasing meaningful parts of their lives. The concept focuses on emotional control, reversible experiences, and calmer relationships with digital memory systems through features such as Soft Hide, Archive Space, and Cooldown Delete.
This project was developed as an exploration of behavioral product thinking, emotional UX, and digital wellbeing.
